Betta Care Guide
The Betta (Betta splendens) is a beginner-level freshwater aquarium resident from Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam. It reaches about 2.8 inches and should be kept in tanks of at least 5 gallons.
Keep water near pH 6.5-7.8, temperature 75-82F, and hardness 3-12 dH. Feed carnivore, pellets, frozen food with 1-2 small feedings daily.
Bettas do best with calm tank mates that will not nip fins or compete for the surface. Avoid other male bettas, flashy guppies, and fast fin nippers.
