Angelfish Care Guide
The Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) is a intermediate-level freshwater aquarium resident from Brazil, Peru, Colombia. It reaches about 5.9 inches and should be kept in tanks of at least 30 gallons.
Keep water near pH 6.5-7.5, temperature 75-82F, and hardness 3-14 dH. Feed omnivore, cichlid pellets, frozen food with 1-2 small feedings daily.
Angelfishs need tank mates chosen around temperament, territory, and adult size. Provide line-of-sight breaks and avoid fish small enough to be swallowed.
