Nerite Snail Care Guide
The Nerite Snail (Neritina natalensis) is a beginner-level freshwater aquarium resident from Captive aquarium trade. It reaches about 2 inches and should be kept in tanks of at least 5 gallons.
Keep water near pH 7-8.2, temperature 70-81F, and hardness 6-18 dH. Feed algae, biofilm, prepared foods with 1-2 small feedings daily.
Nerite Snails are peaceful cleanup animals that need stable water and predator-free tank mates. Avoid fish that nip, crush shells, or hunt shrimp.
