Black Skirt Tetra Care Guide
The Black Skirt Tetra (Gymnocorymbus ternetzi) is a beginner-level freshwater aquarium resident from Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina. It reaches about 2.4 inches and should be kept in tanks of at least 20 gallons.
Keep water near pH 6-7.5, temperature 72-81F, and hardness 4-15 dH. Feed omnivore, flakes, frozen food with 1-2 small feedings daily.
Black Skirt Tetras are active schooling fish. Keep a proper group to spread chasing behavior and avoid pairing nippy species with slow, long-finned tank mates.
