The Pictus Catfish (Pimelodus pictus) is a intermediate-level freshwater aquarium resident from Colombia, Venezuela, Peru. It reaches about 5.1 inches and should be kept in tanks of at least 55 gallons.
Keep water near pH 6.5-7.5, temperature 73-82F, and hardness 2-15 dH. Feed omnivore, sinking wafers, frozen food with 1-2 small feedings daily.
Pictus Catfishs spend most of their time near the substrate and usually ignore mid-water fish. Avoid sharp gravel and very aggressive tank mates.
